Bogomil Manchev, Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Atomic Forum (BULATOM), participated in the sixth edition of the Green Transition Forum.

Bogomil Manchev, chairman of the board of the Bulgarian Atomic Forum (BULATOM), took part in the sixth edition of the Green Transition Forum, which brought together leading experts, business representatives, institutions, and international organizations to discuss key challenges and solutions on the path to a sustainable energy future.

Participants in the panel discussion "Nuclear Energy and Innovation — A Test of Low-Carbon Energy in Europe" at the Green Transition Forum 6.0 agreed that the construction project for units 7 and 8 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant is the largest industrial investment in Bulgaria in the last fifty years. It will impact the country's economy by over 64 billion euros, guarantee base load power for the next 60 years, and transform Bulgarian business into a leading player in the European market through a large-scale transfer of technology.

Bogomil Manchev reiterated the need for strategic planning in Bulgaria's energy strategy and new nuclear base load capacities. He stated:
“We need to start the process now, otherwise, in 2052, future generations will face a serious problem with grid balance and the lack of sustainable base energy.”

BULATOM expresses gratitude to the event organizers Dir.bg for the excellent organization of the forum and for the opportunity to present the opinions of leading experts in Bulgaria's energy sector.
