Canada presented a strategy for building 10 new large nuclear reactors.
The Government of Canada has unveiled a new strategy to accelerate the development of nuclear energy, setting a target to build up to 10 new large-scale reactors and envisaging simplification of procedures for approving future projects

The strategy, presented to the public by Canada's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Tim Hodgson (Tim Hodgson), aims for the construction of the first two new nuclear reactors to begin by 2035, while five more units should be in the planning or development phase by 2040.
Although the adopted document at this stage does not bring new direct financial resources, the Canadian government has announced that by April 2027 it will publish an official policy detailing the precise conditions for obtaining federal support, as well as financial instruments that will be available for the realization of new nuclear projects.
