The I4N Serbia 2026 competition in Belgrade.
Serbian Nuclear Society (SND) and the Young Generation Network are organizing the national competition Innovation for Nuclear (I4N), which will be held on April 4 in the premises of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. Teams from Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, and Kragujevac will present innovative solutions in the field of nuclear energy, and the winner will travel to the European final

On the presentation of the results of the preliminary technical study on the application of nuclear energy in Serbia, the president of the Serbian Nuclear Society, Koviljka Stanković, said that the experts who will operate the first Serbian nuclear power plant today are very young, and some are even in “elementary schools.” And some, perhaps, participate in this extremely interesting competition. Thus, amid discussions about strategic partnerships, government studies, hungry data centers and small and large reactors, we briefly shift the focus to perhaps the most important resource – young professionals. The I4N Serbia 2026 competition is designed to promote the nuclear profession and connect the academic community with the local industry.
Path to the European final
The best-ranked team will earn the right to represent Serbia at the European final organized by the Young Generation Network of the European Nuclear Society (ENS YGN). This is a unique opportunity for domestic students and young researchers to showcase their innovative potential on the international stage.
Why is this important?
As we constantly emphasize, without its own professional staff and “human infrastructure”, every story about nuclear power plants remains only an imported project without domestic roots. Support for such initiatives is crucial for the sustainable development of the sector in Serbia.
