Strategic assessment of site selection and infrastructural imperatives for the development of nuclear energy in Serbia.

The Republic of Serbia, after the official lifting of the 35-year moratorium on the construction of a nuclear power plant in late 2024 ¹, has entered Phase 2 of the IAEA Milestones Approach (Milestones Approach). This phase, which, according to estimates by the Ministry of Mining and Energy (MME), will last 5–7 years ², is focused on site selection (Site Selection), creation of the regulatory framework, and preparation for the tender.
